Rick Harmond, a ranch kid with a simple outlook on life, has been offered a full-ride scholarship to college. He must join an exclusive fraternity to be awarded the means to be the first in his family to go to college. He doesn't fit in, and neither does a special young lady he grows fond of quickly after meeting her. As he navigates treacherous waters with his prospective fraternity brothers, his fellow freshmen and the world's tribulations, he questions his commitment to college, his own values, his priorities and even his faith in his effort to find a way to maintain his core philosophy and ethics while seeing this girl and keeping his scholarship at the same time.

It’s not a novel, it’s a journey. I could see and hear these characters, I felt their struggles as if they were my friends. I liked some, hated others and fell in love with two. Dan Williams takes us through the angst of college and the trials and choices of young adulthood, but he also goes straight to the heart of what makes us human. We’re all looking for one person to see us as we are and accept us, whatever our flaws. Williams shows us how it’s done in an honest way and why it matters. Keep a hankie handy when you read “Close Enough to Perfect.” You’ll need more than one, but you’ll also be smiling through those tears.Product details

Close Enough To Perfect Dan Williams 9781521392652 Books Reviews
It’s OK. Not a real professional writing style, but a good story line. Needs better editing and reference to time and location of characters.
Dan William’s Close Enough To Perfect is a story of two outcasts brought together by unfortunate circumstances and must struggle in an inauspicious environment. The characters are real, Dan’s writing style makes you appreciate and have empathy for them.
When a once popular girl is left on the fringes after a terrible accident leaves her a paraplegic she is befriended by a young man who doesn’t fit in either. They clash and eventually unite to make their wayd make a place in a world that is not hospitable to them.
It’s a good, fast read. You’ll enjoy it.
Feel good book
I liked the very accurate portrayal of a young woman going through experiences in high school and college as an amputee. The brutal honesty of how the public deals with her new body and how she deals with it herself. This novel has great potential as a script and I am looking forward to seeing it on the screen. Great work, descriptions and dialogue.
I like his style. Though it is an plot, he gave it enough life not to be boring. Dan, keep up the good work. I would love for these characters to have a future ((HINT))!!
Dan has taken a the subjects of disability and different and written about them so that anyone could see themselves in the place of the character. He then evolves the characters to be more than they thought they could be.
It is an engaging story with likable characters which also happen to be real. A great read.
Close Enough To Perfect by Dan Williams is the story of anyone who has ever been outside of the "In" crowd for any reason. Williams has created strong characters which will resonate with our own struggles about staying true to ourselves; our values; and how we interact with others along the way. I found myself cheering on Rick Harmond as he steps out of his comfort zone and into a culture that is too self-absorbed to even notice its bad manners (or even flat-out rudeness). During this tumultuous upheaval, he has to make extremely hard choices and finds almost too late what is most important to him.
